TATTOO CARE

Tattoo Care Instructions

How to Take Care of Your New Tattoo

KEEP IT CLEAN,
KEEP IT MOIST,
AND
KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF.

• Take off bandage after 1hr. or 15 mins.
• Handwash with soap & water.
• Do NOT rebandage.
• Gently rub very light application of BACITRACIN-ZINC or
Vitamins A&D ointment or a similar antibacterial ointment is acceptable.
Too much ointment will suffocate the skin, leaving it mushy and cause
oozing which can turn into thick, crusty scabs taking a month or more to heal.
• Keep using until the crusty bits of healing skin have flaked off.
The tattoo will peel and lose a little ink, but this is normal so don't freak out.
• Expose your healing skin to air as much as possible but avoid prolonged
  exposure to the sun.
• If you experience any problems with the aftercare instructions or products recommended here, discontinue use immediately.

• NO ..  Scratching or picking your tattoo
• NO ..  Chlorine, Saltwater, Sun, or Long Baths.
• Do not apply Perfumed Lotions.
• Do not apply alcohol.
• Do not apply Neosporin or Vaseline. This is a wonderful product for cuts
and scrapes, but not for tattoos.
• Do not apply petroleum based products.
• Do not apply Lanolin (causes allergic reactions in some people).
• Do not apply Bee’s wax (in some lotions can clog pores and is not recommended).
• Do not expose the tattoo to direct sunlight, Swimming in the Ocean or a pool,
soak in sauna, steam bath or bathtub for two weeks.
• Short showers are best.
• NEVER touch your tattoo with dirty hands.

N O T E S

You must be 18 or over.
Not any younger, doesn't matter if your parents will sign for you.
Be ready to prove yourself with a photo ID.

I NEVER reuse needles or ink!
I always use new needles for EVERY person.
ALL NEEDLES ARE SINGLE USE ONLY.

Needles, Ointments, pigments, gloves, razors, plastic barriers, and ink caps used in applying your new tattoo are discarded after each use.

Listen to your tattoo artist.
Tattoo artist, provide detailed instructions and you should follow them carefully. Think of your tattoo as having a warranty; if you don't follow the artist's instructions, you might void the warranty and he or she won't give you free touch-ups.

Your artist is not responsible for any infection or problems
you may develop/have with your tattoo, if you don't take proper care of it.
